Is Verge Currency a private company and how is it funded?

No, Verge is 100% open-source software.

It is not a private company funded through an ICO or pre-mining.

Development and marketing efforts are supported by thousands of volunteer community members and a group of close to 25 Verge Core Team members, donating their time and expertise, from all over the world.

We do accept donations, but many costs like hosting fees, server fees etc are supported by community donations or by Core Team members out of their own pockets.

Is Verge Open Source? Where can I see the code & updates?

We love (and believe in) open source!

Verge and it’s developers use and maintain their code in various repositories on GitHub.com.

They can be found here: https://github.com/vergecurrency

If you are a developer, and/or have an idea that can improve the Verge project, please make a PR!

Where Can I Find the Verge Roadmap?

As an open-source community and volunteer-driven project, we are constantly implementing, reviewing and re-evaluating technologies and features to make Verge into one of the best Currencies out there.

To that end, it doesn’t make sense to be setting roadmaps which might be irrelevant by the time they’re published, so instead see what we have achieved so far by viewing our Milestones.

Why Does Verge Have a Public Ledger?

We believe a blockchain should be public if it is a currency, for a wide array of reasons; most of them to protect the users of the currency.

With a public blockchain, you are able to see coin distribution and how many people are using the currency.

How can I support the Verge Currency project?

The simplest way of support is by donating to fund the development.

Our XVG address can be found here.

If you would like to contribute to the project in the area of software development, digital marketing, video and graphic design or any other, please reach out to us directly via email at contact@vergecurrency.com.

How Is Verge Development Funded?

Verge is an open-source project, so all of the development work is funded by the developers and community donations.

We are currently exploring other methods to fund development including opening an official Verge Merchandise Store and Multi-Algorithm Mining Pool.
